We go above and beyond to make sure you’re as comfortable as possible throughout your wisdom tooth removal.

We begin by making sure you’re very numb and that you can’t feel a thing before we get started.
We also offer Halcion, a prescription medication that decreases anxiety and helps you to “forget” the procedure once it’s over. If this is something you’re interested in, let us know.
During treatment, nitrous oxide (commonly known as laughing gas), a gentle and effective sedative is available to make you feel relaxed and a little tingly. Laughing gas wears off quickly so there’s no “hangover” effect.

What are “impacted” wisdom teeth?

This is when a wisdom tooth becomes “stuck” below the gums or is misaligned. It can be painful or lead to gum disease and/or cavities. We may recommend extracting an impacted wisdom tooth.

Should teenagers have their wisdom teeth out?

Teenagers usually recover faster than adults so it often makes sense to have wisdom teeth extracted sooner rather than later. But it really depends on the person and the health of their wisdom teeth.

Can wisdom teeth get cavities?

Yes, and because wisdom teeth are hard to reach and brush, they’re even more susceptible to cavities than the rest of your teeth. If it’s difficult to keep your wisdom teeth clean, it might be worth considering wisdom teeth removal.

How long does it take to recover from a wisdom tooth extraction?

Most people will be back to normal within a week or so. If you have your wisdom teeth removal done by Dr. Jensen, we’ll talk more about aftercare instructions and how to recover quickly.
