When you come in for an appointment at Chugach Dental, Dr. Jensen will provide an exam to help determine the cause and extent of any stained teeth. From there, he will lay out treatment options and work with you to determine the best course of treatment for your particular situation.

Depending on the cause of your stained teeth, most stains fall under 1 of 2 different categories:
- Extrinsic stains: A superficial stain that appears yellow or brown, and is spread out throughout your smile.
- Intrinsic stains: Localized to specific areas of your smile, appearing as small dark or light stains.
How to fix stained teeth
How we treat your stained teeth will depend on the cause and the category of stained teeth you are experiencing. For extrinsic stains, teeth whitening treatments can remove stains easily. For intrinsic stains, we might recommend crowns or fillings.
